København

Priyanka and I made a fleeting visit to Copenhagen on our way to my friend Jimmi’s wedding Horsens. We stayed two nights at the new Moxy Copenhagen Sydhavnen. During our time we got to see most of the central city. One full day was definitely not enough time to see the whole city.

In our time there, we saw Nyhavn, the iconic harbor with the colorful buildings. This is a symbol of the city, and probably it’s most recognizable feature. From there we took a 1 hour boat ride through the Copenhagen’s canals. To get there to Nyhavn, we walked the city’s long high street Strøget. This is also where we were able to pick up our souvenirs, and grab our lunch and dinner. Interestingly, when we were seated outside having line in Strøget, a military marching band played right past us.

In the early evening, we made a quick visit to the amusement park Tivoli Gardens, which is said to be the inspiration for Disneyland. We then headed back to the hotel to rest up for an early-morning drive to Horsens.
